During his visit to Tanzania in June
2014, the Vice President of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Dr Li
Yuanchao, announced that the Chinese Government would invite Tanzanian youths
to China to study Chinese language, kungfu and calligraphy, and visit
historical sites. The Confucius Institute at the University of Dar es Salaam
(CI-UDSM) is therefore inviting applications from Tanzanian youths in
secondary schools and higher learning institutions for the 2015 “Chinese Bridge
“Summer Camp.
Location: Beijing,
Jinhua, Zhejiang Normal University and Yi wu, China.
When: 26th July- 10th
August 2015
Contents of the
Program:
- Chinese language courses (20-30 hours);
- Culture courses, such as paper cutting, calligraphy, ink and wash painting, tea ceremony and martial arts (10 hours);
- Diverse activities (e.g. get together with Chinese students, home-stay experiences, etc.) (10 hours);
- Cultural experiencing activities (10 hours);
- Final exam (YCT 1–4).
Eligibility:
In order to qualify, the applicant must
have the following qualities:
- A regular student in a secondary school or higher learning institution;
- Staff of the University of Dar es Salaam and other government Institutions will be given special consideration;
- A Tanzanian citizen (excluding holders of Green Card or Permanent Resident Card);
- Age between 18–40 years by July 2015;
- Healthy and able to travel internationally;
- Interested in Chinese language and culture;
- Never participated in “Chinese Bridge” Summer Camp before;
- Be ready to pay for international air ticket and visa (approximately USD 650 in total) by 15th May 2015.
Note:
The HQ, Hanban, will send exam reports to students who pass).
