African Leadership University Youth Ambassador 2015

As an ALU Youth Admissions Representative (YAR) you will join a team committed to transforming African education forever. Sound exciting? You will be directly involved in marketing ALU in your country and be our representative on the ground. Once selected, you will be flown to Johannesburg for an intense training on the ins and outs of ALU. After this, you will return home to begin your mission ensuring young people in your country have all the information necessary to apply to ALU.

Your Mission

The overall goal for a YAR is to get 500 applications to ALU from their home country/region, and to help maintain ALU’s online presence, including:

• Posting on social media about ALU
• Writing blog posts about ALU
• Representing ALU in their communities by:
  • Speaking at schools and other institutions
  • Speaking at Community events
  • Distributing ALU collateral
  • Recruiting ALU Superfans to participate in a viral social media campaign

Requirements

To be eligible for the programme, you must have:

• A personal mobile phone
• A personal laptop
• A constant, working internet connection
• Full or part time (25h/week) commitment to the ALU YAR program.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will be:

• Interested in innovative approaches to marketing
• Execution focused with the ability to prioritize and get things done
• Extremely driven and goal-oriented (i.e. someone who does not give up easily and will continuously try multiple, creative ways to solve a problem)
• A learner: someone who frequently asks for and gives feedback with the aim of continuous improvement
• No older than 22 years old

Desired experience and expertise

• A recent High school graduate
• Experience with using social media sites
• Strong public speaking abilities
• Fluent in English and the language spoken in their home country
